Our Story
The Wilburton Area Chamber of Commerce traces its roots to April 1904, when thirty local business leaders organized the Wilburton Commercial Club from offices upstairs in the Royce Building.
According to local historian R.B. Mitchell, those early leaders wanted Wilburton to grow with intention—not as a reckless boomtown, but as a strong community with better public services, reputable businesses and opportunities built to last. The group was later remembered in Wilburton’s Centennial history as the town’s first Chamber of Commerce.
More than 120 years later, that work continues.
Today, the Chamber supports local businesses, brings people together, promotes community-driven growth and helps tell Wilburton’s story through programs like Visit Wilburton. We are proud of where this organization began—and even more excited about the next chapter we are building together.
Rooted in Wilburton. Working for what comes next.
